Christmas Time, Time for Toys. time to make a mess...

We had loads of fun this week, everyone is getting off work so they are outside and willing to talk. it was great!  this email is just going to be a mess of random things.

Youth... Tanner one of the Priest on Sunday walked up to me and so proud to say he beat the missionaries... there was about 46 non members at church this last Sunday....
sister Nussbaum is an older lady and is the only member in her family so as a Christmas gift to her the 3 Generations on her Family came to church. some great grandkids too but we are just counting those of age to be Baptized. the other part that made it even crazier is we combine our ward services with the Highland Heights ward so there were alot of people there that i had never met. it was Crazy. Looks like i'm cooking for the Youth after Fall Break.
we also got to go on splits for mutual this last Wednesday with the youth and go Caroling. it was a lot of fun.... one of the widows we visited let us all in and brother Scheel just asks everyone to be quite Elder Jarvis is gonna give us a Christmas message... but it was cool on the moment inspiration struck and it was a very personal testimony shared. Definitely something I never imagined myself being able to do back home.

Phone call contact
we went through some records and called a few people who talked to missionaries before, none of them answered. we went out in the field later that day and one of them called us. we didn't have access to look up who it was... it turned out to be a wrong number. so i just treated them like a normal Street contact and i taught her about God and the book of mormon all over the phone. she was supper sweet and we are going to see it later this week! I talked to her on the phone for like 40 minuets.
I have never taught someone so much over the phone. it was cool!

Bertina
Bertina is doing good, still working towards January

12th but we will have to move it back since she was unable to come to church because her anti sister came into town a day early...
but she'll get there.

Mary to the temple
We Finally after an extended period of time mary and Terry are back from their belated honeymoon and not sick anymore we were able to meet with them. mary confessed that she had always struggled with holidays because of how one of her 8 sons was killed and so does some of her family and she felt peace knowing the about the plan of salvation. but what she didn't know about was baptisms for the dead. We taught her about the temple and how her son along with her parents are just as enthusiastic about the gospel is and just waiting on her.
I loved doing baptisms for the dead. as you spend large amounts of time with you living relatives this season don't forget about those who have crossed over.

Merry Christmas Y'all
-Elder Jarvis
