Glasses

this was an good week.. it was filled with other activities... we had zone conference and also did some service a few days because of house flooding...  so not much time to work in the field this week but still got some miracles and fun lessons:

Mike is another story for another day...

anyway we got to have our second lesson with him and his nonmember son. I don't think I have ever taught someone who had such great love and compassion in lessons then he does.

I don't even know how to describe it.... I just love teaching them

we got to teach them the part of the paln of salvation really focusing on our purpose hear, and normally I would use a ring to teach receiving the holly ghost. but in the dead of sinlence inspiration struck.

I realized that glasses are like the holly ghost.

its individual each person has some different way to experience the holly ghost works with them.

but generally you get those feelings for doing certain actions...

its like glasses....

I can take my glasses off and I can hold them 3 feet from my face, what to I see?

everything is blurry except that when I look through the distant lens then it is clear.

for those who have not received the holy ghost there are only certain places they can look to feel the power of the holy ghost testify to them

however when you receive the holy ghost you put the glasses on and now almost everything is clear to me. and I can see the power of god all around me.

It may not make much sense now LOL, but it was a very powerful lesson then.

Paulson's!

there are two things me and Elder Jones have really been working on as a companionship

1 using the book of Mormon in every lesson( the book of Mormon isn't support for our message, it is our message! everything we hold to be true relies upon if the holy ghost testifies of it) 

2 planning for lessons, we seemed to be just going through the motions so we decided to not leave until we had really planned for things

well we had the Paulson's feed us for dinner. we tried to review what we knew about them and came to the conclusion we don't really know them at all... after talking for a little while, we finally knelt in prayer. to ask god if it was what he wants us to do. and he said no. he then revealed to us a lesson plan that was supprising to us but the holy ghost confirmed it to us.

and we had one of the best member lessons in a while.

I can promise from experience if you study out your question. pray over it, and bounce the idea off of people god will help you clarify the answer for you. (as he so desires, but he always desires us to be happy so  it is usually inline with his will to reveal clarity to us.)

The book of Mormon...

we had a lesson cancel and then our back up plans were too far out of the way for us to travel too, it would be in effiecient to go there. so we were stuck in a loop of what should we do now. we only have 30 minuets before we go in.

elder jones looked at me and smiled, at zone conference we were told not to teach the book of Mormon but to have people taste it, so that's what were gonna do.

we walked around with the book of Mormon and just shared a random verse that we could think of with anyone we saw and we gave out all the book of Mormons we had on us... one person even asked for my personal copy, but we set up an appointment to give them one... except that... we went over they were antied...

but the power of the book of Mormon is real. and you will know if you read it, study it, and liken it to yourself
