Transfer Day was SWEET!!

TRANSFER DAY WAS SWEET

transfer day l found 1 investigators before i left chillicothe and then 3 in xenia (btw im in Xenia with Elder vance hes from farmington utah) with elder vance it was really cool because we didnt have much time so we were only able to knock four doors that day fist one no one answered the next one was viola who had missionaries take down her light and tbought they were really nice but weird that they would never come in, since then she has decided to start looking for a new church because she doesnt like her old one anymore. She thinks its really cool what we do. Thinks it would be cool if her grankids did it too.

Then we went to a lesson after the lesson we knocked two more doors, the first one was shelly. She is so cool.... we knocked her door someone peaked through the window and you heard them yell to each other theres people outside. No one answers, we knock again, same voice you hear the young boy say, "they are still here" no one answers. After a minuet or two no one answered elder vance walked to the curb right as inwas stepping off there porch i heard a voice say who is it(very quiet voice. Excitedly i yelled back. The missionaries. She said who and then nevermind ill open the door.... its Shelly!!! She opened thr door and we taught her a very powerful door step restoration and shw is coming to church this sunday, she qould of come last week but had work.

We knocked one last door and denise answered and invited us in, he jokingly said i answered the door and invited you in ifmit was my wife she would of sent the dogs on you. He was really cool... but he texted us before are second lesson telling us he believes in jesus and to stay away... enjoy terrestial kingdom, unless his heart softens...

Elder vanxe is harder to teach with but every day we just get more and more unified every day. he is on month 21... i may kill him... haha
But in reallity i just need to get used to his teaching style, he doesnt use many scriptures and he teaches everything in analogies whichnis really cool bur hard to follow sometimes.

Elder vanceand elder hadfield  didnt plan out all the miles.. they used up all are miles, so we biked about 60 miles the past 6 days. 23 of those on saturday... i was sore on saturday... hahaha gonna get stronger though... it was a big change from driving everuwhere to biking 23 mile in sleet... time to pull out gloves haha

We play alot of games in Xenia, its like as a communitie they love board games it kind of cool but it is also a whole different teaching style then i am used to but i am getting used to it... sorta.... ill figure it out..

It was funny though on tuesday i was bugging elder vance about how much games we play(he loves games). Well we find this one guy Carson, he used to be a pastor but doesnt like all the monney involed, is interested in our church and in learning more, when we text him to set up a return appointment the first thing he does is ask if we want to have a game night to and me ans elder vance just lost it lauphing.

we are now teaching a jewish guy, he is really cool, he has read alot of different scriptures. He also has a very exotic fish tank from all over the world, his point of view is very interesting, he is my favorite out here.

Lastly Xenia is huge, it is one of the biggest wards in ohio. There are moee active membtpers in this ward then my home ward. And its a very military area, every door we knock has an afdiliation with the airforce(which just so happens thats what elder vance wants to do after his mission)... we get fed like ccrazy, i went from 4-5 dinners a month to 5-7 dinners a week. The ward is extreemly active, and members make meals or have spices from all over the world, mainly bolivia though... i eat really good out here. But its very healthy so i can eat alot? Hahaha.
Seriously though they are militsry and like to stay fit, we have like no crappy food in our appartment, probably for the best

Heres a good quote from my atudy this week,
" They are anxious to share their joy with others, and they never lose this desire. Patrick Henry said at the closing scene of his life: “I have now disposed of all my property to my family. … There is one thing more I wish I could give them, and that is the Christian religion. … If they had that, and I had not given them one shilling, they would have been rich, and if they had not that, and I had given them all the world, they would be poor”

That had a strong spirit to it whenni read the talk, i read a talk about every day, sometimes more then one

Btw i should clarify and tell you that  on Saterday we walked 3 miles to fix elder vances bike because his tube was poped and his rim dented, then played basket ball for three hours with the priests, where elder vance turned my pointer finger into a marshmellow after you heat it in the microwave (he jumped to do a lay up and came down and jamed my finger, it looks gross so i didnt take any pictures).... i iced it every night but the swelling didnt gong down til tuesday, it was so swolen i couldnt move it at all.... but the swellings gone down a bit now.... i still made a lot of threes and half court shots with a jacked up pointer finger though. So whatever... after the game we bikes 13 miles to dinner 12 miles back...

Love yall
