I am getting transferred don't know where to yet though...
Wednesday, we got brother McCoy the ward mission leader out to a lesson, with a new investigator Kieth. It was a really solid restoration lesson. He agreed to babtism, he agreed to come to church. He explained how he had been looking for a church and how he found one where he felt he fit in but that he still felt something was msissing. He likes the idea of a modern day prophet and wants to read the book of mormon to know if its really true. He then closed the lesson by saying a mormon prayer, the spirit was so strong you could taste it. I love those type of lessons. It was truely a lesson I needed because it had been a while since I had a lesson so powerful.
We went on exchanges with jackson for friday, after weekly planning, now that was a power packed day, I was with elder olsen and I learned to love him. He taught me how to use videos in lessons. We had three lessons two powerful, one persuasive... the first one with angle was a lesson on her parents porch where we conviced her that she should read the book of mormon. We then had a powerful lesson with Brandon, the guy we shoveled his snow and he said it was a sign from god thst he needed to go to a church as his daughter was asking him too. Then ended the night with a lesson with ceara, who we got her to open up and give us her back ground and then read from the book of mormon and talked about how it applied to her. It was a really powerful night.
Monday was a supprisingly good day. We were planning to do a lot of member and less active work but we ended up. Having a lesson with candice when we were trying to visit scotty. She is a less active Jehova Witness and she is so cool. We taught her the restoration and she has accepted everything we have to say. And even though its hard for her to turn pages because od her broken thumb she wants to read thd book of mormon, i cant wait for the day i get to go back to Chillicothe for her babtism.
Latter in the night, we did a drop in on an investigator who hadnt been responding to us. We got in and got to hear him teach his son Justice about what the book of mormon. It was really we then went on to testify of modern day prophets. And thst 17 years old boy`s eyes got so big. And everything got quite and he only said one word, "really?". Thst was a powerful lesson, only problem is his dad doesnt understand what we teach as much as Justice does. But maby when justice gets babtized it will open his fathers eyes a bit.
We were extreemly blessed on tuesday, when we were knocking a street and we got no answers at all or those who did answer said no and slamed the door, some didnt even make it to saying no before the door shut. We only had four houses left and we were getting discouraged. But we pushed on, first door was sick and said come back another time. The next door was cathy who has recently been humbled and is looking for purpose in life. We had a very spiritual conversation after she said that. Next door didnt answer. Then the last door was Isaiah who is very smart but doesnt attend anychurch because he thinks they dont believe in what the bible says. And that he just never felt good there. I am excited to hear about how he progresses.
On occasion I will be asked, “Brother Monson, if the Savior appeared to you, what questions would you ask of Him?”
My reply is always the same: “I would ask no question of Him. Rather, I would listen!”
