his thought crossed my mind today it's to random and funny to not share. A mission really teaches people to want to be good because they never want to go to prison... let me explain at certain times of the year missionaries are requested to go inside. If the weather us too bad outside or there is a bunch of drunk people for holidays. Etc... it is literally as close as I have ever been to being put in prison, it sucks. We just get board out of our minds, you can only do so much phone calls and paperwork before you are drained. But God has the plan and he taught me now i never want to get closed to being locked up, if its anything like getting lock inside all day. I never want to do it.
Anyway this week was tough but good. We got to meet the new mission president and companion(The Ensign's) . They are pretty cool. I am excited to work closely with President Ensign his theme as a mission president is as follows
1. work: the greatest thing you can do in life is learn to love to work
2. pray: prayer shouldn't be a habit but the best part of each day.
3. Obey: the holly Ghost leaves if you can't follow Gods Standards
Best for last
4. LAUGH: "laugh your way Through life" times to short to be sad laugh instead.
President Ensign is awesome! he hit the ground running. Coming into the field... he may be there times my age but I am going to learn how to keep up with him. He can get work done. My time with him is gonna be fun.
The rest of the week was hard but good, it's been a while since a had a week as hard as this one it was good and humbled me up a bit. But through the trial I learned a greater love for the work and a greater desire to take advantage of any moment we do get to be out in the work.
We did have some Miracles though,
Cory was a guy we met and then after we met him his wife antied him and he avoided us for three weeks "ugh". But we got in contact and his after a while of listening to him complain his heart softened and it was someone finally turned on the light. I dont really know how to describe it within an hour he went from atheist anti Christian to a grateful heart. And a strong desire to learn more.
He even treated his family better... when we got there T 1pm his wife fled the room and he locked his kid in a room. When we left he was happy laughing and he even started to play games with his son. He was a completely different person. Its gonna take a lot of work to get him to pray but he is well on his way.
Another miracle, we have been trying harder to work with members more but the desire for them to share the gospel hasn't been there. But we decided we would push a little harder on them and nothing happened. So we decided to take a new approach and reach put to there neighbors and have there neighbors tell them about meeting us. It was a crazy good miracle with Savannah, we knocked on her door and she just joined a new church because her pastor died. She grew up with a friend who would always share some things about the gospel with her but never took the opportunity to learn more mainly because of her parents. But now she is moved out and has a family of her own. And Has STARTED READING THE BOOK OF MORMON!! She is awesome, I am happy to work with her family. Hopefully her husband is as open to it as she is...
I'll leave you with a Scripture
Moroni 7 33
"And Christ hath said: If ye will have faith in me ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is expedient in me."
I know that now more then ever before that if we have faith or Sincerely act(pray, study, and go to work) we will have the power to make it through. Wither it been school tests, strength and motivation to bike. Really Anything if it's in line with Gods will it can happen. I promise you this, The Prophets promise this, and Even Jesus Christ himself promises this.
Think about that for minute
Love yall
