Sad news, transfers... elder Carter is ... is ... is .... not gonna break my streak, going 5 for 5, 5 companions in 5 transfers. My new comp is Elder Norris from, annabella, Utah ... its by Richfield(central utah he says...)... he is a country boy! Its good cause this area probably needs him...
Me and Elder had a fantastic last week togeather,
But before i go into the week let me define transfers for ya: two or three days of packing, and loosing sleep...
hahaha, but there is always more miracles and fun to come....
We had a fabulous lesson wth brother hysell( part member family, he is not a member)... we went over to do service for a bit on wednesday and then sat down for a lesson. And he just told us that we answered all of his questions, any of his concerns of problems that he has told missionaries over the last three years. All answered! It was a power packed lesson, the only problem is he isnt ready to do what it takes to gain a testimony... but he said the time will come, cause he is getting boared with retirement and he needs to fill that hole... were gonna see if i can get him in the water befoee i get boosted out of here!
But sister Hysell cried when he told us these things, he also accepted the first commitment from a miasionarie in over a year! He has always loved the missionaries and the church but wasnt ready or willing to act, but we finally got the ball rolling!!!
However there is a problem, we went over yesterday for dinner( now with Elder Norris) and he noticed that he may be getting alzhiemers, it runs in his family... he reads one sentence in his study and couldnt tell you what even one of the words he just read were... he goes to the doctor this week...
I love brother Tillis, he litterally feeds us whenever... he will do anything for the missionaries, but come to church... :l .... Elder Carter and I went over and Bore his Farwell testimony to us, and he cried and confessed to us how much he wants to go the temple, and be endowed. How much he wants to do work for the dead! It was a spirit packed lesson, however he ended by saying i will get there someday... someday being not any time soon... hopefully we will be able to get him to push along....
Brother Hunt is a stud, he is a newly wed husband who came up and asked us about some personal concers so we set up a lesson with him. The lesson was spirit packed, he is a convert to the church and has been struggling but we helped him set some new plans to help him feel the spirit stronger, he is just the most sinceer person you could ever meet! And he thanked us for our help and asked us if we could put him on out list to call for any lessons! Im am so excited for the future and to see what comes in this ward!
Next Daryl, we went over and helped him pack on friday, now Dayrl is a what we call an eternigator, he has been investigating the church for what seems like for ever, he never has kept commitments but loves to have the members and elders over for a meal. Well after packing for a little while. He sat us down prdered a pizza and finnally read something from the book of moemon! And wanted to discuss it! And he commited to read more and pray about it! It was another powerful lesson!
Finally Bill, Bill is my favorite person ever right now, so he is recovering from a stroke a little while back so its hard for him to move around and is slow of speach. But we taught him the Plan of Salvation! and he told us that the three kingdoms makes so much sence, it is the only way god can be just. However he is still trying to grasp the idea of a difference about adam and eve, at the end of the lesson we invited him to be baptized and he said once he is able to walk he will walk into the font! I love him... he is a carter though, i can not enter his house without lauphing within the first 5 minuets!
Love Elder Jarvis
